The London Walker – Spring Newsletter

Dear subscribers, walkers, explorers, participants, friends, Romans, countrymen, flâneurs, cultural connoisseurs and history nerds, lend me your ears!

Welcome to The London Walker Spring newsletter. How are you all? I do hope the year so far is treating you well, that life is being kind, and that you’ve been getting out and about, because goodness, London has been looking rather beautiful lately.

Spring Walks — Book Now!

After a busy few months behind the scenes, I’m delighted to say that the first walks of the season are now live. Dates in May are up and bookable right now, with more to come for June and July shortly. Whether you’re a returning face or joining us for the first time, it’s going to be a wonderful season and I can’t wait to get back out on the streets with you all.

The first dates are live on Eventbrite. We have a great selection coming up including golden oldies – Rebels and Radicals and A Meander Around St Paul’s, as well as new ones – East End: Arrivals and Assimilation and the history of Fleet Street. Spaces go quickly so do grab yours while you can. June and July dates will be dropping very soon, with some other new routes. Subscribers, you loyal lovelies, will be the first to know, so make sure you’re signed up.

It’s been an enormously busy start to the year, a big juicy project which has absorbed a great deal of time recently, and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been so patient and supportive waiting for walks to go live. I have been getting your messages, and I’ve been itching to get out there as well. So hopefully we can all meet up and start exploring.

There are some genuinely exciting things in the pipeline that I can’t wait to share with you, more news on these very soon. It’s one of those moments where a lot of things are quietly coming together at once, and this next year is going to be rather eventful. Watch this space.

The days are lengthening, the blossom is out, and London is doing what it does best — looking impossibly lovely, the pubs and restaurants are opening on to the streets, and hiding around every corner is something extraordinary. There really is no better time of year to be out exploring. Even if you can’t make a walk with me just yet, I’d encourage everyone to lace up your shoes, pumps, boots, crocs pick a street, a lane, a path you’ve never walked down, and see what you find. Be excellently curious.

As ever, thank you all for your enthusiasm, your kind messages, comments and support. This little community of history wanderers means a great deal to me, and I look forward to seeing many of you out on the streets very soon.

Until then, happy walking, keep exploring, you never know what you might find.

Happy walking,
Tim, The London Walker
