Hello, thank you for visiting, and welcome to The London Walker. My name is Tim Lewis. I’m a filmmaker, storyteller, walker, and keen historian with an eye for the unusual and quirky. This year, I graduated as a guide from the Golden Key Academy, where I trained to curate and offer a range of engaging guided walks that explore the themes, personalities, and histories of this remarkable city. Starting later this summer, I would love to have the pleasure of showing you around one of the most fascinating cities in the world: London.
London is unique, few cities have their past and present packed so closely together. It offers a rich blend of culture, heritage, and modernity. From Bronze Age jetties at Battersea, Roman temples at Walbrook, Saxon street names on the Strand, Tudor theatres in Southwark, to the noisy clamour of present-day Camden and the shining towers of the Square Mile. London is a fascinating canvas of colour, energy, ideas, and expression.
Like many, I call myself a Londoner, though I only arrived in my twenties after a childhood in green suburbia. Lulled to the city’s bright lights like so many of us before. I have always been driven to wander, and I found to my surprise that you could see so much of this extraordinary city so easily on foot. Each walk revealed more discoveries, a glorious little park or square, a marvellous view at the end of a street, a fabulous old pub, every aspect of which has at its heart a great story, waiting to be shared.
Wherever you walk in this incredible city you get a sense of its extraordinary history and its ever changing identity. Let me share with you on a guided-walk the treasures, hidden gems and little-known corners of the London I know and love.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ More than the usual history tour Tim is a superb guide, ultimately knowledgeable, adept at digging below the surface towards roots and development of the City area, a total delight to spend time with, and so generous with the flow of information. Highly recommended.
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Fantastic walking tour around St Paul’s Fantastic time on the “Meander around St Paul’s” tour. Tim is very knowledgeable and had great enthusiasm for his subject. A great experience and would thoroughly recommend it.
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ A tour through London’s Radical History Tim’s Rebels and Radicals tour was a delight , an imaginative and thought provoking tour around Smithfield and Clerkenwell. I particularly enjoyed Tim’s gift of encouraging his guests to imagine themselves in the historical scenes, whether the coronation of Elizabeth I, a bustling medieval meat market or agitated crowd of 19th Century workers demanding change. Highly recommended!

Tim is a gifted story teller whose passion for London truly shines through and is infectious. He helps you see London through different eyes and helps you understand how the past influences the now.
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ A really top class walk through a fascinating part of historic London. This was a delightful and inspiring stroll through one of the most historic, but lesser known, areas of London. Tim is an excellent guide whose interest and passion for the city’s history shines through, and for this walk he’d really done his research – even though I thought I knew my Clerkenwell already (as I’d worked in the area), I came away knowing and appreciating so much more.
⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ An unforgettably fascinating tour This was a fantastic, well-researched tour. It was full of both the history of important revolutionary moments, as well as delightful stories of the local people and area over time. It opened my eyes to many fascinating details that had passed me by, even though I worked in the Charterhouse/St Barts area for several years.
