Starting at one of the most famous addresses in the world, Buckingham Palace, this walk takes in three famous London residences of the royal family. Along the way we cross through St James, a fascinating, elegant, evocative place to explore, sat between Westminster and Mayfair, it has a deep continued connection with the British aristocracy, government and royalty.
despite the clearly astronomical values of its ancient freeholds (and the fact that, with nearly sixty listed Grade I and Grade II buildings, and perhaps a hundred more listed Grade II, it has the highest concentration of such buildings in the country), St James’s as a whole seems somehow able to cling on to its little eccentricities and charms.
